Dunblane Primary School is a values based, non-denominational primary school, where nurture and inclusive practices are part of our culture and ethos. We serve the area of Dunblane that sits West of the River Allan and we are set within large greenspace grounds, which includes a garden area and orchard. Children’s positive experiences of school and relationships are a priority to us and are at the fore front of what we do here.

A rare opportunity has arisen for an individual to join our senior management team as a temporary Principal Teacher. If you feel this may be the post for you, you will be expected to contribute to and support our nurturing, dynamic, values-driven, inclusive and dedicated team here at Dunblane Primary School.

You will be delegated responsibility for curricular and pastoral areas of school and in addition teach an assigned class. You will have a key role in supporting the school improvement plan and evaluating the progress within it, as well as translating the developments into everyday classroom realities for your peers.

As a Principal Teacher at Dunblane Primary School, you will be an exemplary practitioner who models the highest standards of learning, teaching, and assessment. You possess deep pedagogical knowledge and a proven track record of teaching excellence, including a strong capacity for supporting children with a range of Additional Support Needs (ASN). You will ideally have a positive experience with, and an active commitment to, developing, play-based pedagogy.

An inspiring and motivational leader, you will naturally identify strengths in your peers, empowering them and supporting their professional development. You are a collaborative team player and a self-motivated individual who brings energy, optimism, and enthusiasm to our school community. When navigating school matters, you maintain a calm, objective approach, demonstrating resilience and a solution-focused mindset.

If you are seeking more responsibility and are keen to develop your own professional practice towards a senior leadership role we are looking for you.

Please note that although the application process allows the uploading of a CV (resume), this is not a requirement for teaching posts and if submitted will not be taken into account during shortlisting to ensure a consistent approach for assessing all candidates. You should instead fully answer the question section with all relevant experience and skills.

The successful candidate will be required to be a member of the Protecting Vulnerable Groups Scheme (PVG) for Children. If your application is progressed after the interview, you will be asked to complete the form and have your details verified.

If you’ve got the right skills for the job we want to hear from you. We encourage applications from the right candidates regardless of age (restrictions apply to Modern Apprenticeships), disability, gender identity, sexual orientation, religion, belief or race.
