Job Description

Stirling Council is an ambitious Council seeking to take advantage of its unrivalled location and rapid growth to provide opportunities and services for all its citizens and to encourage sustainable business and community development.

Stirling Council as a whole, and the Governance Service in particular, have embarked on an exciting transformation programme to best place the Council to meet the needs of its citizens. We are looking for a solicitor to join our Legal Team supporting the Chief Officer – Governance and the Legal Manager to help drive forward the change process within our team and the Council. This is an opportunity for an ambitious solicitor to make their mark and progress their career.

You will report directly to the Lead Solicitor – Litigation and Licensing and provide litigation support across the breadth of the Council’s functions. Analytical and communications skills and political awareness are essential, together with a commitment to customer-focused public services.

In addition to your legal role, you will support transformation projects, which are crucial to the future efficient and effective delivery of Council services. You will support the Chief Officer- Governance and the Legal Manager in our plans for service development and reform. Importantly, you will be a team player and an asset to our friendly Legal Team.
