This is a fixed term post until 31/01/2023.
Applications are invited for the post of Finance Assistant (part time 17.5 hours per week), which is located within a very busy finance unit, serving all of West Dunbartonshire Council’s main Service Areas (excluding Education) in the areas of financial accounting, management information, revenue and budgetary control. The post holder also works closely with various Voluntary Groups dealing with the administration of grant applications and is also involved in the financial support of local Community Councils.
Duties will include making payments, monitoring expenditure and maintaining accurate financial records. This post is also expected to participate in the annual revenue estimates process and to assist with budgetary control throughout the financial year.
The successful applicant will have excellent organisational skills as well as a financial background. You should have the ability to operate efficiently and accurately working to strict deadlines within a rapidly changing and challenging environment. It is essential that applicants have experience of MS office applications and proven numeracy skills alongside excellent written communication skills. Previous experience using Unit 4 Agresso Financials is also desirable.
This vacancy has arisen following the temporary secondment of the previous post holder and is expected to last until 31 January 2023.
Note this vacancy is a part-time post of 17.5 hours per week. Working days would be flexible and negotiable.
