A vacancy has arisen for a peripatetic Catering Assistant within the authority’s Clydebank area. The post holder will require to assist in the day today operational requirements of the catering service across various premises as required.
Duties will include assisting in basic food preparation and service of all foods in compliance with the Nutritional Requirements for Food and Drinks in schools (Scotland) regulations 2008, compliance with all the relevant legislation as required and setting up/clearing away equipment for food service. The post holder’s duties will include general cleaning to a high standard including crockery, cutlery, kitchen utensils, kitchen and dining room areas, staff rest room and toilets.
The post holder will require to adhere to Food Safety System, Safe Systems of work and Health and Safety Legislation. Knowledge of such legislations would be an advantage as would previous experience in this type of work.
The successful candidate should be able to work on their own initiative as well as part of a team.
Working Hours / Working Pattern: 16 Hours. Monday - Thursday 10.00am-1.30pm; Friday 10:00am-1:15pm (This includes a 15 minute unpaid break).
This is 52 week post, fixed term until 23/06/2023. This post is part-time and the salary will be pro-rata'd to the hours worked.
This post is considered as Regulated Work with Children under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007 and as such membership with the PVG scheme is essential. Further details of this scheme can be found here.
Preferred applicants will be required to become members of the relevant PVG scheme, or undergo a PVG Scheme update check prior to a formal offer being made by West Dunbartonshire Council.
