Post Details: 17.5 hours  Permanent - Area Team Dumbarton/Vale (Work pattern - Monday, Tuesday & every alternative Wednesday)  (the salary will be pro-rata'd to the part-time hours worked)

A permanent vacancy has arisen for a Senior Social Worker position within West Dunbartonshires HSCP Children & Families Team (Under-12).

West Dunbartonshire is an area with high levels of poverty anddeprivation; parental substance misuse, poor mental health and high levels of domestic abuse are key areas of concern.

The successful candidate will manage a team of social workers and a range of support staff. You will be involved in the coordination and management of service delivery for children, (generally up to 12 years old) and their families within the framework of relevant legislation, council policy and departmental procedures. Requirements

This post is considered as Regulated Work with Adults and Children under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007 and as such membership with the PVG scheme is essential. Further details of this scheme can be found here.

Preferred applicants will be required to become members of the relevant PVG scheme, or undergo a PVG Scheme update check prior to a formal offer being made by West Dunbartonshire Council.

Responsibilities
