Looking for a new direction and a new role that will inspire, stimulate and enhance the lives of many people in West Dunbartonshire?

We are seeking a new Board Director to help us with our mission of ‘Inspiring Active and Healthier Communities’.

West Dunbartonshire Leisure Trust – an arm’s length organisation established for the strategic and operational management of West Dunbartonshire Council’s Sport and Leisure Facilities; Community Facilities; Outdoor Recreation; Sports Development; Active Schools; and Outdoor Events are looking to appoint an Independent Director to its Board.

This is an outstanding opportunity for someone who has passion and eagerness to act as an ambassador for our organisation. Suitable candidates for the voluntary role will be able to demonstrate strategic leadership in the public, private or third sectors. We are particularly interested to hear from you if have skills in:

  • Commercial Business;
  • Governance;
  • Legal; and
  • Marketing

In recognising the lack of diversity currently on the Board, applications from groups which are currently under-represented on the Board, including women and those from black and ethnically diverse communities would be welcome.

On average, you will serve on the Trust Board and Committees around six days per year with Board Meetings taking place in the evening, normally in Alexandria/Clydebank or remotely on Zoom. Directors will not receive remuneration; however, they are entitled to receive costs incurred while serving.
