An exciting opportunity has arisen within Building Services for the recruitment of a highly motivated Contracts Manager to provide strategic direction and support in the delivery of the councils housing capital programme including planned/cyclical maintenance to ensure consistency of purpose and clear direction to achieve the highest quality of service delivery.
The role includes management and co-ordination of all aspects of the contracts team including, major refurbishment, estimating/ surveying section, compliance, electrical and heating installation teams, ensuring that the work is completed in accordance with identified procedures.
As part of a highly motivated and close working unit, the post holder will be able to devise and lead on strategies for service delivery and be expected to complete their duties with a minimal level of supervision using considerable initiative and independence.
You should also have the ability to prioritise workload and deliver projects and tasks simultaneously within tight timescales and operate successfully in a team environment, managing and motivating staff effectively. The postholder will be expected to set and meet high quality performance standards to ensure continuous improvement and strive to surpass these measures for their own and their team performance.
You should also have considerable experience, at a management level, in a building maintenance or construction industry, or similar environment. You must be qualified to HNC or equivalent in management and have excellent financial management ability.
