The Development Worker for Pathways will be part of the Anti-Poverty Service; specifically, the Pathways Project, funded by the UK Shared Prosperity Fund.

The role of the Development Worker will be to actively contribute to the People and Skills investment priority by working with individuals to promote wellbeing through volunteering opportunities, for people furthest from the job market.

The post holder will work with partners to identify skills gaps, which can be addressed through volunteering opportunities. They will lead on the development of volunteering training, placements and accreditations, to offer individual development, support to overcome barriers and work towards set goals. The post holder will work closely with the Third Sector Interface, and strong partnership working will be key to the success of the project. Work will include the delivery of talks and presentations; the post holder should therefore have excellent oral, written and interpersonal communication skills.

The successful candidate will be required to monitor the progress of the project to ensure that project aims and targets are met, and report outcomes in line with required timeframes.

Candidates should have a good general education, significant relevant experience in supporting volunteers, and accrediting their work. Experience of delivering training would be an advantage. The ability to work as part of a team and on own initiative will also be required, in order to meet key priorities within the project’s development plan.
