West Calder High School is a non-denominational comprehensive school offering students a progressive, relevant, challenging and enjoyable curriculum with opportunities for personalisation and choice. Staff are fully committed to engaging young people in their learning and make it a priority to ensure that all students have the opportunity to enjoy a high quality educational experience. Current roll is in the region of 740 students.
West Calder High School offers a wide and varied a curriculum, emphasising the need for learners to be as successful as possible in their attainment. The school recognises and values a range of achievements in music, art, sport, technology, dance, drama, enterprise and interpersonal skills.
Having recently moved to a new £32m building, West Calder High School facilities are state of the art, representing West Lothian Council's biggest ever single investment in education. It is already transforming learning and teaching for West Calder pupils.
The senior management structure of the school consists of a Headteacher, 2 Depute Headteachers, 8 PTCs, 3 PTs and a Business Support manager. The school has a faculty structure with 5 faculties and 3 departments.

This post is considered Regulated Work with Vulnerable Children and/or Protected Adults, under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. Successful candidates will be required to join the Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme Update check prior to commencing employment and the cost will be met by the candidate.
The fee for a Full PVG Scheme Membership is £59 or Existing Member is £18. The £59 cost (where appropriate) will be deducted from your salary over a 1 or 3 month period by repayment schedule. If your employment concludes before the amount is re-paid in full, the outstanding balance will be deducted from your final salary
