Working as a key member of the Roads and Transportation Service you will assist in the delivery of one of the key functions of the service.
You will work directly to the Public Utilities and Roadworks Officer, assisting with the co-ordination of public utilities and the control of other works on public roads in accordance with current legislation, specifications and guidance.
Applicants are required to have an appropriate qualification to SVQ level 2; ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications and bills of quantities; good communication skills and a full driving licence.
Current accreditation to supervisor level in accordance with the New Roads and Streetworks Act 1991; Formal accreditation in Highway/Roads Inspection from a recognised training course (SQA, LANTRA, City & Guilds); HNC in Civil Engineering; and working knowledge of specialist computer software such as GIS, Scottish Roadworks Register, Asset Management databases (e.g. CONFIRM) are all desirable.
