Reporting to the IT Technology and Solutions Manager, this is a senior post within the new IT Services structure and is critical in the delivery of effective and efficient IT Services. As Client Server and Software Technical Team Lead your challenge will be to provide leadership and management to a team of 6 permanent advanced technical staff who are subject matter experts encompassing Unix, Wintel and Client & Server Management responsible for delivering and supporting these technologies.

The post will work closely with the Education Technical Team Lead, Network Technical Team Lead, IT Service Desk Team Leader and the IT Management team to provide an excellent IT service provision to all of our customers.

This permanent role provides an exciting opportunity to play a key role in shaping the new IT structure within West Lothian Council IT Services.

IT Services structure is based on ITlLv3 and you must have a solid understanding, knowledge and experience of good practice. Applicants will have extensive experience in IT with proven management experience leading a team of subject matter experts in the provision of effective and efficient 3rd line technical support. Applicants will also have proven experience dealing with IT technical delivery of projects using PRINCE2 methodology, Freedom of Information requests, Data Protection Legislation, IT Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery.
