Pupil Support Worker – 27.25 hours/week, 39 weeks/year (term time)

Armadale Primary School is a non-denominational school which serves the community of Armadale, West Lothian.

The school has 16 Primary classes and an ELC setting offering morning, afternoon and two whole day places with a total capacity for 60 children at any one time. Armadale Primary School is managed by a Head Teacher with a leadership team consisting of one DHT, one other substantive Principal Teacher as well an Acting Principal Teacher. We also have a staff team consisting of a support for learning teacher, a full teaching team as well as a supportive pupil support team, an ELC team and admin and clerical staff. The school runs a very successful Breakfast Club which is well attended by the children. We have a fully supportive Parent Council who is very active in school, especially in the areas of fundraising and general parental communication and liaison.

The school has an excellent relationship with the Cluster Schools, local community, and the local church. This Admin Assistant role will have a clear focus on delivering high quality administrative support to Armadale Primary School.

The Pupil Support Worker will report directly to the Senior Leadership Team. They will provide a safe, secure and inclusive school environment that builds the confidence of young people to enhance their ability to learn.

This post is considered Regulated Work with Vulnerable Children and/or Protected Adults, under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. Preferred candidates will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check prior to a formal offer of employment being made by the West Lothian Council

This position requires registration with the SSSC. The successful candidate will have six months from the date of commencement of this post to become registered with the SSSC.
