Edinburgh College is seeking to recruit a suitably experienced and qualified person to take up the exciting post of Lecturer in Childhood Practice.
The ideal candidate will have recent experience of working in a Childhood Practice setting and experience of delivering SQA qualifications. Delivery is planned across SCQF levels 4 – 8 and a broad experience of the subject is essential. The successful candidate will be required to deliver evening classes (18:00 – 21:00) which will be timetabled for one weekday evening per week.
The candidate must have a degree in Childhood Practice or in a relevant discipline. Recent experience as a Practitioner or Manager in a Childhood Practice setting, experience of delivering childhood courses in a college setting and/or teaching experience in staff training which includes delivering SQA qualifications is essential. Experience of supporting outdoor learning is desirable.
Owing to the current pandemic our current delivery is still online. We expect our Childhood Practice students to return onto campus from mid to late October. This return will be phased, and a blended learning approach is planned. (example - some classes face to face, others remaining online for the rest of this academic session). We expect the candidate to have the flexibility and experience to manage and deliver using both methods.
ON-LINE LEARNING - Experience in creating digital online content is essential for this post – Example, creating PowerPoint presentations, using and leading on Microsoft Teams (with multiple groups of learners) and using related and innovative software apps to enhance the learning experience.
Please note that the successful candidate may be required to work at any Edinburgh College campus.
Please see the Job Description and Person Specification for further details.
