Location - You will be employed initially at Edinburgh College: Sighthill Campus, but you may be required to serve at other workplaces and to travel during the course of your employment.

Role/Subject Specific Information

Edinburgh College is seeking to recruit a suitably qualified person to take up the exciting post of Quality Assurance Officer.

In this post you will be the first point of contact in relation to all Quality Assurance issues. Key task sand activities will include:

  • Quality Management - ensuring quality procedures are followed and implemented and to develop staff understanding of awarding bodies and other agencies policies, procedures and processes
  • Validation and Approvals – co-coordinating arrangements for the validation and approval of new courses and to assist with the co-ordination of external verification visits
  • Examinations – managing all examination arrangements which includes the processing of examination entries to external awarding bodies,setting exam timetables and co-coordinating the appointment and payment to invigilators.
  • Data Transfer – managing the data submission of student data(registrations, entries and results) to external awarding bodies and to deal with all internal and external communication in relation to student records and certificates

What you will offer us

Educated to SCQF level 7 or above (or equivalent) in a relevant subject,you will have proven experience of Quality Assurance systems in an education sector, and will have demonstrable experience of analysing and managing complex written and numeric information. Furthermore, you will be able to demonstrate experience of prioritising demanding workloads to meet deadlines, and show the ability to resolve issues using initiative, working as part of a team.
