Technical Assistant Sport -EC00309

Hours - 35 hours per week (Job Share may be considered)

Contract basis – Permanent

The Sports teams at Edinburgh College are looking to recruit an enthusiastic and self-motivated Technical Assistant in Sport, to support the delivery of their innovative and extensive curriculum.

The teams deliver a wide range of courses in Sport, Fitness and related subjects working with a variety of client groups ranging from SCQF level 3 to HND, therefore a flexible approach to cross-team working is essential.

Applicants must be educated to, and be a recent graduate Coaching and Developing Sport at HNC/HND level or equivalent, in a relevant sport and fitness related subject area. Applicants must understand the requirements of a busy, successful sports department and club. A knowledge of coaching, fitness, sports therapy and outdoor education would be an advantage.

Applicants must have current or recent experience of employment in a sports club or association carrying out tasks such as:

• Setting up and taking down of equipment

• Hiring and retrieval of sport and fitness equipment

• Laundry of sports club kits

• Risk assessment and review

• Preventative maintenance procedures for facilities and equipment.

• Fault and maintenance reporting procedures

• First Aid reporting procedures.

Moreover, excellent communication and organisational skills are essential as you will regularly work directly with students and staff.

This post may also include evening and weekend work as part of the normal working pattern.

A full clean driving licence is essential.
