Location - You will be employed initially at Edinburgh College: Sighthill Campus, but you maybe required to serve at other workplaces and to travel during the course of your employment.

Role/Subject Specific Information

Edinburgh College is seeking to recruit a suitably qualified person to take up the post of Automotive workplace assessor to develop,co-ordinate and assess the Modern Apprentice programs within the body and paint curriculum and commercial income areas.

What you will offer us

This role involves providing support to both apprentices and employers throughout their course of study, as well accurately assessing apprentices work to ensure it meets the awarding body standards. The role also involves liaising with potential new employers to promote the colleges Modern Apprentice program.

The primary function is to develop business, co-ordinate and assess the Modern Apprentice program for a specialist area, within automotive body and paint, accident repair and vehicle refinishing this list is not exhaustive. The role will provide support to the apprentices throughout their course of study and be the point of contact in working towards their award.

Educated to an SVQ3 and VRQ and hold a Modern Apprenticeship qualification in an appropriate automotive discipline, you will possess knowledge of sustainable and new technologies and possess professional business development experience and up to date skills in body and paint disciplines.

It would be desirable to hold an assessor's award qualification (L&D9DI, A1 or D32/33 assessor qualification), verifiers' award qualification (L&D11 or D34/35). Post apprenticeship qualifications and any emerging automotive technologies qualification would be beneficial to the role.
