Lecturer in Health and Social Care

As part of the Health and Social Care team in the Faculty of Care, Social Sciences and Education, you will support students in the achievement of their learning goals through providing an appropriate, effective and engaging learning experience.

You will contribute to the overall effectiveness of the curricular area, assisting team members and the Academic & Quality Manager in recruiting students and evaluating learning and teaching. You will support the achievement of the operational and strategic objectives set out in the College Regional Outcome Agreement.

You must be qualified to HND/Degree (SCQF Level 8 or 9), or, SVQ Level 4/5 in the relevant vocational area, or, hold the highest level qualification in the relevant discipline to the subject area being taught. In addition, you must have relevant recent experience at a professional level in either healthcare, social care or both. Preferably, you will also have relevant teaching or academic experience.

Effective communication, organisation and interpersonal skills are essential. You will have the ability to inspire, encourage and motivate others together with the desire to make a real difference to our students.
