Technical Assistant - Culinary Arts (15 hours per week, Sessional)

We are looking to appoint an enthusiastic, motivated person to provide an efficient and effective service in the provision of technical support which enables the delivery of a quality and safe service to our students.

You will work mainly within the College training kitchens providing assistance and support to the technician team in the day to day organisation of the Faculty.

You will support in the maintenance of a clean and safe working environment by cleaning and maintaining kitchen and front of house equipment and also ensuring health and safety legislation is adhered to by following protocols and procedures.

Assisting technical and other staff in the preparation of materials and equipment for use in classes, as well as identifying the availability of equipment and consumables to support the learning process are key tasks of this role.

A good standard of numeracy and literacy is essential. A working knowledge of Health and Safety legislation and safe working practice is essential.

You must have excellent communication skills and have the ability to work well within a team setting and on your own initiative.

This is a permanent sessional appointment where you will work 42 weeks of the year and 15 hours per week over 5 days (3 hours per day).
