We have an opportunity to work in a supportive and interesting environment within the Careers Service at Glasgow Caledonian University. The Careers Service is part of the Directorate of Student Life and works in many ways to support all GCU students and graduates in relation to careers. We provide careers advice, education, information and guidance, along with a programme of employer events and a bespoke vacancy system. The service is also responsible for the Common Good Award and the Work Experience Hub. The university is seeking to appoint a part-time (0.6FTE) Administrative Assistant to join our Careers Service.
Reporting to the Head of Careers Service, the post holder will work in partnership with our existing 0.4FTE Administrative Assistant to provide efficient and effective administrative support to the Careers team, as well as information to students, potential students, staff and others on all aspects of the service.
We are looking for someone who has a proven ability to provide effective administration support with excellent organisational and interpersonal skills who is proficient the use of Microsoft Office and database packages, particularly Finance systems such as PECOS. The post holder will need to be flexible and able to prioritise tasks within their workload to achieve objectives. A problem solver with good communication skills with expertise in minute writing and using social media.
Educated to HNC level or equivalent, the successful candidate will have experience in the provision of administrative support, financial management and a proven track record in developing and reviewing administrative policies and operational procedures.
