This is an open-ended opportunity based at GCU Glasgow
Glasgow Caledonian University is a vibrant, multi-cultural and modern university in the centre of Glasgow, and is placed amongst the top 50 universities globally (THE Impact rankings, 2020). Our welcoming community of 20,000 students, from more than 100 countries, enjoys a wide range of award-winning support services and state of the art facilities across each of our campuses in Glasgow, London and New York. Our University mission - with its commitment to the Common Good and core values of integrity, creativity, responsibility and confidence - is integral to everything we do.
GCU has a team of Learning Technologists whose role is core to the work of the University, and has been integral this past 12 months, as the University has successfully moved to a temporary offering of online and blended learning delivery.
As GCU works to implement its 2030 Strategic ambitions we are now recruiting for a Learning Technologist to join our Academic Development & Student Learning Dept. This role will work together with the current Learning Technologists across our Schools and Departments, within a matrix working set up, ensuring that that skills are best utilised across the team. They will work in collaboration with staff, advising on the best use of technology for teaching and learning; training and upskilling for digital delivery; and developing creative online teaching and learning resources using a range of technologies.
The successful candidate will have relevant Learning Technologist experience, ideally hold a relevant qualification and will demonstrate strong service delivery experience. The ability to exercise initiative and show a high degree of responsibility is a prerequisite of the role. The Learning Technologist will be an excellent communicator and will be highly organised.
Please refer to ‘Job Attachment’ below for a more detailed summary of the role.
