As part of People and Culture Services you will help us to cultivate the inclusive culture of the College through the engagement of colleagues and students providing guidance, practical support and advice on equality and inclusion on an individual, team and organisational basis. This a new role and an exciting opportunity to join a highly collaborative team. The successful candidate with have the opportunity to influence and shape our EDI strategy and to make a real difference for the benefit of staff, students and our communities.

The post holder will proactively lead on the development and implementation of our Equality and Inclusion strategy, policies and projects and will be pivotal in mainstreaming equality and inclusiveness throughout our practices and functions.

Description of Duties:

· lead on and contribute to Equality, Diversity and Inclusion initiatives, projects and policy work to further promote and progress mainstreaming equality and inclusiveness throughout College practices and functions;

· assist in delivering the development, implementation and evaluation of our equality and inclusion strategy;

  • translate equality legislation into policy and operational practice;

· build and drive initiatives that truly make an impact, collaborating closely with internal and external partners and stakeholders;

· use data analytics to measure the effectiveness of our approach and understand and communicate areas where further improvement is desirable and make recommendations;

· work across all services assisting managers to audit their area(s) and embed further equality and inclusion and build capacity; and

· gather and analyse evidence and data to inform statutory reporting and improve practice and service delivery.

Essential Criteria:

· An in depth understanding of equality, diversity and inclusion issues.

· A track record in applying different and innovative approaches to advancing and mainstreaming equality, diversity and inclusion.

  • Demonstrate experience of the Inclusion agendas and social trends.

· Confidence and expertise in the subject matter, with excellent knowledge of Diversity and Inclusion issues in the UK.

· Experience in:

  • supporting the development of strategy and delivery;
  • developing and delivering change programmes across all levels of an organisation and working with and influencing staff;
  • developing and implementing equalities initiatives that have demonstrated positive outcomes;
  • contributing to translating legislation compliance into strategy and practical operational delivery;
  • working with data and using this to inform policy and initiatives;
  • contributing to the successful delivery of positive organisational and cultural change; and.
  • skillful report writing.
