NESCol is one of Scotland’s leading and largest colleges and is currently thriving. Set in the North East of Scotland with two campuses in Aberdeen City, one in Fraserburgh, and the Scottish Maritime Academy in Peterhead we are critical to the success of Aberdeen City and Aberdeenshire. We play a key role in ensuring that local employers can access people fully prepared for work, and in providing opportunities for people of all ages to progress their education.

We are partway through our current Strategic Plan and there is plenty to do for our next Principal to continue to shape our future to ensure that we remain responsive and adaptive to the many demands placed on us and smart, efficient and agile to cope with an ever-tightening financial climate. We seek a leader with the experience to cope with the day-to-day and the vision and ambition to ensure that we remain a progressive and sustainable institution.

NESCol delivers education and training to more than 15,000 students. We have an annual turnover of £46m and a large and varied estate. Maintaining our financial stability and leading our capable management team to delivering effective people, estates, learning & teaching, and IT strategies are key components of the job, as is highly visible leadership internally, sensibly balanced with key strategic external engagement at both a regional and national level.

The successful applicant will have the support of a highly committed and capable Regional Board and will inherit an enthusiastic and skilled Leadership Team who are committed to working together to continue our journey of excellence.
