Queen Victoria School (QVS), a boarding school for the children of service personnel and funded by the Ministry of Defence, is looking to appoint a Deputy Head teacher with specific responsibility for Pupil Support. The school is set in 45 acres of beautiful countryside and offers stability and continuity of education for those who board with us.

This is an outstanding opportunity for a caring, compassionate and driven leader to join the Senior Leadership Team in providing the highest possible quality of care and support to our young learners, who are aged between 11 and 18. We pride ourselves on the quality of support we offer our learners; support that also allows our students to flourish in terms of both academic and wider achievement.

The post includes management of the Pupil Support department, the Developing the Young Workforce (DYW) teacher and the school nurses. Applicants must be GTC(S) and PVG registered prior to taking up post. Full details can be found in the job pack.

The salary of £56,571 has an additional generous allowance (currently £12,556) which reflects the live-in nature of the job and the weekly on-call duties which all members of the SLT undertake. Please note that allowances are reviewed regularly and there is no guarantee that this will always be available. It is a residential position and comes with a detached family property on site, for which a nominal rent is charged.
