Learning Support Assistant (Maternity Cover)

At Sight Scotland, the new name for Royal Blind, we are looking to recruit an energetic, enthusiastic and creative person to join our team of Learning Support Assistants on a temporary basis to cover maternity leave.

The Royal Blind School, in Edinburgh, is a leading provider of specialist education services for children and young people with a vision impairment, including those with additional support needs and/or complex needs. As a Grant Aided Independent Special School, we deliver education and support for day and residential pupils aged 5 to 19 years.

You will support the delivery of the learning and care on a supply basis to our pupils who have a range of visual impairments and additional complex needs, by providing a safe and high-quality environment in which they will thrive

Applicants should have a PDA qualification or equivalent, have experience of working with children with additional support needs in a classroom environment.

The post is subject to PVG Scheme Record/Update for regulated work with vulnerable children and young adults.
