Applications are invited for the position of Network Infrastructure Specialist within the Digital & Information Services, Network Infrastructure Team.

The University is implementing an ambitious digital strategy which has resulted in significant investment, providing an exciting opportunity to work with some of the latest technologies in a large environment supporting >3,500 staff and >14,500 students.

The successful candidate will be given the opportunity to make a significant contribution, further develop their skills and career by working at the centre of a dynamic higher education environment on a variety of innovative networking work, including Data Centre and Application Delivery Infrastructure; reshape web hosting services; and maintaining and improving our Service Desk Institute certification by meeting and exceeding customer expectations with regard to incidents and requests.

The Network Project Team comprises 3 staff with a range of skills and specialisms with a good team dynamic and positive relationship with other IT teams and the wider University community. In order to succeed, a candidate will require a customer service ethos and be adaptable in order to meet the challenges and demands which can vary considerably throughout the academic year.

The successful candidate will also be able to demonstrate that they have developed a depth and breadth of knowledge and skills in relation to network technologies and that they will have a flexible approach in applying these skills in line with the duties and responsibilities given.

This role will also offer the successful candidate the opportunity to develop into a team leadership role.

Salary will be at the appropriate point on Grade 7, £43,414 - £51,805 per annum with placement according to qualifications and experience.
