Bank Lecturer - Science

Hours and days are as required.

Salary: £35,170 - £43,357 per annum pro rata (dependent on experience)

 

West Lothian College are looking to expand their register of bank Lecturers who will contribute to their team. Working within the friendly and knowledgeable team within the Computing, Engineering and Built Environment faculty, you will be committed to the delivery of high-quality teaching and a varied learning experience, focused on progression and employability.

 

Successful candidates will be added to a bank register of Lecturers. There are no guaranteed hours of work. The number of hours and duration of work will vary subject to curriculum requirements.

  

Applications are invited to contribute to the delivery and assessment of a range of courses from SCQF Level 4 to Level 8. You will develop course materials for online and face to face learning, work flexibly and collaborate effectively with other members of the team.

 

Applicants should be educated to SCQF Level 9 and/or appropriate professional qualification in their specialist field, and sound practical work experience in an appropriate setting.  A teaching qualification and lecturing experience within the science sector is desirable. Experience and knowledge of Chemistry and Biochemistry would be preferable.

 

Salary on appointment will be dependent upon experience.  Candidates with limited/no lecturing experience will be placed on the first point of the scale.

Candidates that have been selected for interview will be required to deliver a 10–15 minute presentation, prepare a class lesson and undertake a competency based interview.

Interviews will take place onsite at West Lothian College on 24^th February 2023.
