Permanent Position – 37.5 Hours
The Scottish Ambulance Service Fleet Department maintain a fleet of 1,450 emergency response, scheduled care and support vehicles nationally through 16 in house maintenance facilities and partner services.
We are recruiting a Vehicle Maintenance Master Craftsperson based from Glasgow City Workshop to cover the West Regional Division.
The person must be a flexible person, who must be able to respond when required, to pressures relating to vehicle maintenance and repair demands, in the workshop or field.
This will to be a part of a service team maintaining the fleet of ambulance and support vehicles in the West Region. The post holder will report and be directed by the Planner Supervisor based in Glasgow.
The post holder will be a qualified mechanic, with experience in the maintenance and repair of cars and LCV’s. The post requires a competent individual with extensive vehicular diagnostic knowledge, auto electrical and analytical skills. Candidates will be able to work efficiently with minimal supervision to the highest standards, in a time and safety critical environment.
To meet the challenges of this position, candidates should have served a recognised automotive apprenticeship, with the appropriate qualifications and experience. Candidates must hold a full driving licence (C1 & D1 entitlement attainment would be a condition of employment). A sound working knowledge of computers, use of software programmes, internet and e-mail is essential.
This is a full time position working 11:00am – 19:00pm (37.5 hours) Monday to Friday. A rotating pattern of weekend 1 in 7 On Call will be part of the post responsibility with occasional overtime and public holiday working.
