Job Description

NHS Scottish Ambulance Service is seeking an enthusiastic, innovative and dynamic person to lead our Infection Prevention and Control Department. This is a full time permanent post.

You will be responsible for the overall management of the Infection Prevention and Control Department ensuring a comprehensive, unified and responsive service is provided across Scottish Ambulance Service and that infection prevention and control policy/procedure and practices align with national policy, standards and guidelines in the context of the pre-hospital setting.

The successful candidate will have excellent leadership, communication and organisational skills and have the ability to support staff in the achievement of quality patient outcomes by providing expert advice and clinical expertise on infection prevention and control matters.  Strong management skills are required, as is the ability to work well under pressure. 

You must be a registered nurse or paramedic with post graduate specialist infection prevention and control qualification at degree/masters level and experience at a senior level in the field of infection prevention and control.

As this is a national post geographical location of the successful candidate is flexible.
