An exciting opportunity within the Specialist Services Desk (SSD) for a Specialist Services Desk coordinator has arisen.
The Scottish Ambulance Services Air Ambulance division completes approximately 3500 missions a year along with the Scottish Transport and Retrieval Service (ScotSTAR) teams undertaking approximately 2500 specialist transports and retrieval missions per year, moving some of the most critically ill patients in Scotland.
As a SSD coordinator you will be the single point of contact for healthcare professionals looking to access the specialist transport and retrieval services, air ambulance service as well as providing a crucial coordination role in the developing Scottish Trauma Network.
The successful candidate will be highly motivated, have the ability to work under pressure, prioritise workload, have the ability to adapt in an ever changing developing environment and deliver a varied workload to high standards in a fast paced high pressured environment.
The specialist services desk operates 24 hours a day 7 days a week. As a co-ordinator you will be expected to work 12 hour shifts including weekends, bank holidays on a dayshift and night shift relief basis.
