The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service would like to invite applications for the post of Data Services Developer, on a 4-year contract. This is a full-time opportunity, working 35 hours per week however applications from individuals seeking to work on a part time, job share or flexible working basis would be considered.
The successful candidate will play a key role in the on-going development of SFRS approach to performance management, business intelligence and analysis. The Data Services Developer will be in a hands-on role from day one, delivering innovative technical solutions to provide fast and reliable systems to report on Service wide key performance information.
Previous experience and knowledge of business intelligence development with a proven record of ability in demonstrating a range of data development skills is desirable. A record of programming skills including the development of any Management Information System (MIS) as well as experience of developing and monitoring systems, processes and procedures will be a distinct advantage.
Applicants would benefit from an excellent level of knowledge of any of: T-SQL, Power BI, R Programming, Python.

Salary on appointment will normally be at the lower salary point, with progression subject to regular review - in line with the SFRS performance appraisal arrangements. A higher salary placing will be considered in exceptional circumstances subject to experience demonstrated.
