The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service would like to invite applications for the post of Administration Assistant based in Scottish Fire and Rescue Headquarters on a permanent basis.  This is a full-time opportunity, working 35 hours per week.

 

The successful candidate will be required to carry out all administrative and clerical services allocated to them by the Team Leader in relation to the management of the Scottish Equipment function, including but not limited to the provision and support of Operational Equipment and Personnel Protective Equipment (PPE). The post holder will provide administrative support to all departmental staff and key members of the departmental team.

 

Previous experience working within a busy office environment with the ability to generate positive working relationships is essential.

Attention to detail, the ability to communicate clearly and confidently with excellent customer service skills along with the ability to produce minutes with accuracy are key elements of the role.

To be successful in this role you are also expected to have knowledge and demonstrable experience of dealing with financial issues and systems as well as software packages. You should also be able to work as part of a helpdesk service.

Salary on appointment will normally be at the lower salary point, with progression subject to regular review - in line with the SFRS performance appraisal arrangements.  A higher salary placing will be considered in exceptional circumstances subject to experience demonstrated.
