The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service would like to invite applications for the post of Property Support Assistant, based in Edinburgh Asset Resource Centre and working from home on a hybrid basis. This is a full-time opportunity, working 35 hours per week.

This is a full time post however applications from individuals seeking to work on a part time, job share, or flexible working basis would be considered.

The aim of this role is to assist the Property Team leader to develop, implement and manage the provision of a high quality and sustainable administrative and clerical support to the managers, project and technical staff of the property and facilities team to enable the smooth and efficient management, development, operation and maintenance of the organisation’s property estate.

Dependent upon location the role will deliver full administrative and clerical support to regional or centralised teams in the provision of a consistent and standardised service within Property Services Department.

Applicants must have previous experience of working within a busy office environment. The applicant will require to evidence dealing with finance issues, e.g. invoicing, credit notes, purchase orders.

The applicant will also need evidence of continued professional development along with being able to generate positive working relationships to achieve a result.

The applicant will require the ability to communicate clearly and confidently along with the ability to work in an often time limited and pressurised environment. The applicant must have knowledge and experience of IT packages, e.g. Microsoft word, excel, Power point.

Applicants will also require knowledge of current and emerging administrative and clerical system e.g. SharePoint and ability to work under pressure while maintaining attention to detail.

Salary on appointment will normally be at the lower salary point, with progression subject to regular review - in line with the SFRS performance appraisal arrangements.  A higher salary placing will be considered in exceptional circumstances subject to experience demonstrated.
