Project Worker - Paisley

Barnardo's Threads service is recruiting a project worker (PW2) to support young people and families throughout the Renfrewshire area.

Barnardo's Threads works in partnership with Renfrewshire Council, Social Work, Health, and other targeted and universal services to coordinate and deliver intensive package of support to identified young people and families presenting with multiple and/ or complex support needs.

The service provides practical and emotional support to young people aged 16-28. This includes housing and homelessness support, support with benefits and budgeting and parenting support.

Our parenting support is delivered on a 121 and group work basis with a focus on preparing for and improving parenting and understanding the importance of attachment and brain development using Five to Thrive approach.

Our resources include:

Prenatal Group, New baby Group, Young Dad's group, and Perinatal Infant Mental Health groups. We focus on the importance of Improved Mental Health and Wellbeing in all our individual and group sessions and offer an outdoor “B Wild” therapeutic approach / programme.

The Project Worker will provide a coordinated and intensive package of support for identified young people and families.

The successful candidate is required to demonstrate a level of experience:

• Working alongside young people to coordinate and deliver outcome focused support tailored to individual and family needs
• Delivering a variety of interventions in partnership with statutory and third sector colleagues to promote children, young people, and family well-being
• Risk assessment and complex case management
• Providing detailed assessments and representation within multiagency meetings
• Developing and delivering evidence informed practice
• Coordinate and support sessional workers, volunteers associated with the project.

You should be motivated, driven and have the ability to work on their own initiative and in addition as part of a wider multidisciplinary team.

Experience of supporting children, young people and families and people affected by multiple adversities is essential, as is a SVQ3 Health and Social care qualification or equivalent for SSSC registration.

The successful candidate will require working with a high degree of flexibility to meet the needs of the service and as such the post holder will be expected to work evenings and occasional weekends as required.
