Every week three children die in Scotland from an incurable condition. CHAS intends to be there for every one of those children.


We are looking for a Social Media Officer to develop and implement the CHAS social media strategy, and lead the day-to-day management of our social media channels. Working within the culture, ethos and philosophy of CHAS, you will deliver high quality and engaging content that inspires the public and stakeholders to support our cause.



Key Responsibilities


You will lead the development and coordination of social media content across CHAS, supporting the delivery of communication programmes, campaigns and appeals via organic and paid content. To achieve this, you will:


  • Develop, build and execute social media strategy through competitor and audience research, messaging, platform determination and benchmarking


  • Develop, implement, monitor and provide monthly/quarterly/annual analytical reporting on the social media aspects of CHAS communication programmes, appeals and campaigns


  • Lead, coordinate and facilitate the social media content calendar process across CHAS working proactively with CHAS colleagues across multiple sites and teams to ensure content is coordinated and maximised across all channels


  • Lead daily community management across all social media platforms (currently primarily Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and LinkedIn)


  • Be responsible for complying with CHAS policies and ensuring compliance with relevant legislation e.g. trademark, copyright, FRSB, GDPR



About You


In order to deliver an outstanding social media experience for all CHAS audiences, you will have:


  • A degree level in Communication, Marketing, Business, New Media or Public Relations


  • Commitment to continued professional development


  • Demonstrable social media experience and knowledge (e.g. Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Instagram) including social media best practices


  • Excellent content creation (photo/video/text), presentation and communication skills


  • Well-developed analytics skills with ability to use a range of tools. Including e.g. Google Analytics and social media planning and monitoring/reporting tools


  • The ability to use Adobe Photoshop or equivalent to edit and optimise images for use on digital channels
