As Community Learning Officer will work in partnership with children and young people, parents/carers, teachers and other agencies to develop programmes that provide support for young people at three Secondary Schools in South Glasgow. Whilst maintaining a whole school approaches, there will be a particular emphasis on working with those young people who have educational, social and/or behavioural needs in line with key school and Glasgow City Council strategy. The post holder will have responsibility for the delivery of the service within St Paul's High School, Lourdes Secondary and Hillpark Secondary Schools and will also contribute to the leadership and delivery of complementary youth work and family learning within the community served by the schools.
To be successful in this role you have the following skills and experience:
Educated to degree level or equivalent industry experience
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
Excellent literacy and numeracy skills.
Experience of partnership working in community setting.
Excellent project management skills.
Evidence of successfully leading, inspiring and motivating adults and young people.
Evidence of recent professional learning that supports and upholds the CLD Standards vision: “that the communities and people of Scotland are served by CLD practitioners that are recognised as competent, confident and committed to equality, empowerment and life-wide learning for all.”
