Maintenance Assistant - Finance

Govanhill Housing Association is a well-established, community-controlled Registered Social Landlord operating within the Govanhill and Merrylee communities of Glasgow. We own and manage around 2,800 homes and provide a Factoring Service to a further 1,500 private owners.

The Association has a substantial Capital Investment Programme, carries out acquisition and improvement of tenemental stock as well as delivering a new build programme. We work closely with our subsidiary company, Govanhill Community Development Trust, whose community development and regeneration services complement our own role as a social landlord.

We are seeking to recruit an Assistant to join our well-established Maintenance team. The main duties of this role are ensuring payments to contractors are made timeously and invoice resolution is undertaken to ensure that contractual obligations are upheld. They will also assist with the processing of insurance claims ensuring claims are submitted on time and monitored to conclusion.

The post holder will also be required to take and process repair requests from customers

The successful candidate will need to be organised, an excellent communicator able to deal with customers and contractor representatives , and someone who can manage a large and diverse workload. They will be numerate, understand and demonstrate a commitment to accuracy as well as having excellent record keeping and time management skills. Previous experience in a similar role and knowledge of Sharepoint and Open accounts would be desirable.
