The Local Government Digital Office (LGDO) has been exploring the scope and benefits of switching the current Scottish telecare provision from a predominantly analogue based system to a digital service. Digital telecare offers individuals, families and carers, security and peace of mind. It enables people to stay independent in their own homes for as long as possible.
As this work continues to progress, an opportunity has arisen for a Marketing and Communications Officer to join the Local Government Digital Office to support Digital Telecare through the next phase of the transformational change from analogue to digital telecare.
The Marketing and Communications Officer role will be fully funded for 2 years by the Scottish Government's TEC Programme and will be hosted and work as part of the Local Government Digital Office.
As Marketing and Communications Officer for Digital Telecare, you will support the development of digital telecare services for telecare service providers in both a corporate and health and care environment. Better digital telecare services in Scotland will change the face of public services and have the potential to dramatically transform the future of millions of people.
The post-holder will also work closely with a range of staff and management within the Digital Office on a day to day basis and work with a range of external partners including Scottish Government and key agencies.
Educated to degree level or equivalent relevant experience, you should have knowledge and understanding of business and commercial skills and be competent in using Social Media Channels. An awareness of the issues, policies and legislation relating to analogue to digital telecare is essential to this role.
A competence based interview will take place on the Thursday 19th and Friday 20th August 2021.

Duration - Until March 2023 (with the possibility of extension). Secondments will be considered.
Standard working week is 36 hours Monday to Friday.
Hours can be worked flexibly in agreement with the Line Manager.
