Job Purpose:

Kibble Education and Care Centre is Scotland’s specialist centre for young people at risk.

Our Intensive Fostering Services match difficult to place young people with foster carers and supports both the young person and the carer in this placement. It has an excellent reputation and has been awarded consistently high grades by the Care Inspectorate.

Following the introduction of a new residential and fostering service tailored to the needs of 5-12-year olds, we are seeking a Form F Fostering Assessor to work on a causal basis. The successful candidate will assess potential carers’ suitability to support children on a full time or regular respite basis.

Main Duties:

• Assess and prepare prospective foster carers

• Counsel out those applicants not suitable for the area

• Prepare Form F reports for Panel

• Present assessments to fostering panel

Qualifications, Skills & Experience:

• Must be a qualified social worker

• Essential experience of working with Looked After Children

• The ability to prepare and present comprehensive reports complete with clear, evidence-based recommendations

• Demonstrable knowledge of all relevant legislation and frameworks such as National Minimum Standards for Fostering Services

• The ability to carry out detailed home visits and sensitively counsel out unsuitable applicants
