Job Title: Development Management Planner

Salary: £32,067 - £38,601 (Band D) per annum, plus excellent pension and annual leave allowance.

Working Hours: 37 hours per week (Monday – Friday) (happy to talk flexible working)

Contract: 2 years fixed term

Location: Balloch (with working from home provisions in place while COVID restrictions remain – and once restrictions are lifted hybrid working will be an option).

The National Park has been seeing an unprecedented level of development activity in recent years and across a wide and varied planning application workload. From a gold mine to affordable housing developments, run of river hydro schemes and, major hotel and tourism development - there has been a lot going on. Interest in development within the National Park has remained high through the pandemic, as have application numbers – and this post has been created to sustain our award winning planning service. Our Local Development Plan is recently adopted and sets out an ambitious and exciting vision for the Park.

This role will handle a range of our more complex planning applications as well as contributing to supporting processes, delivering timeous planning decisions which will contribute to wider National Park Authority outcomes.

As with other roles, you will support the wider Statutory Planning function including contributing or leading projects, service improvements and innovative delivery of services digitally and online. You may also have the opportunity to participate in other related projects.

You should hold a degree or equivalent in planning or a related discipline and have achieved (or be working towards) MRTPI status. Excellent communications, interpersonal and negotiation skills are all essential as is a keen eye for detail.
