Trainee Rehabilitation Worker

NESS is the leading local provider of services for people living with serious sensory loss including people who are blind and deaf.

NESS holds the contract with Aberdeen City Health and Social Care Partnership to deliver specialist support to people with serious sensory loss on its behalf. The role of the Rehabilitation Worker is vital to this.

We are seeking a Trainee Rehabilitation Worker, who will undertake the one-year graduate diploma course in Vision Rehabilitation at Glasgow Caledonian University starting in January 2023. On completion, they will work as qualified Rehabilitation Worker for NESS in Aberdeen.

The successful candidate will be qualified at HNC, SVQ level 3 or equivalent in Social care, Community care or another related discipline. You will be keen to work with people with sensory loss, delivering person-centred practical solutions, enabling them to face their own specific challenges and to increase their independence.

Full time hours (36.25 hours a week)

Salary begins at £24,152 to £25,547

Rising to £30,510- £34,882 on qualification.

Although based in Aberdeen, you will need to travel independently to Glasgow Caledonian University as required. You will also need to be able to visit service users in their communities around the city.
