Electrical Engineers, Central Scotland

Permanent, Scottish Prison Service

Salary: £21,638 - £26,903 dependent upon qualifications, skills and experience (plus an annual supplement of £3000 and on-call allowance)

Our Electrical Engineers provide a comprehensive repairs and maintenance service for SP&N and TP&N distribution systems, including work to small power, inspection and testing, work to final circuits and lighting. We will invest in your development to allow you to learn and apply new skills, which can include development of your career into management roles. There will be a requirement for you to periodically work on call hours, and you may need to travel to other establishments and areas.

If you have the following, we would like to hear from you:

· Served a recognised apprenticeship and obtained a qualification in an electrical discipline to a minimum of SVQ Level 3 or equivalent.

· Hold a current electrical qualification in electrical installations, for example City and Guilds 2382 or BS7671 (18th Edition).

· Experience in the installation, repair and maintenance of electrical systems and installations in an industrial/commercial environment including SP&N, TP&N systems and including carrying electrical / electronic systems maintenance and repairs.

· Sound knowledge of Health and Safety legislation and Safe Systems of Work

· An ability to make decisions and problem solve

· An ability to interpret from drawings, instructions and specifications

· HMP Edinburgh

· HMP Low Moss (Bishopbriggs)
