Tagsa Uibhist is a charity based in Balivanich on the Isle of Benbecula, an island in the Southern Isles of the Outer Hebrides. Tagsa Uibhist was founded in December 1999 to provide support for carers, people living with dementia and vulnerable people living in their own homes throughout Uist. The organisation has continually expanded and now provides a range of services to the local community, all of which fit in with the organisation's core objective of supporting the elderly, vulnerable and disadvantaged people living in Uist.
We believe that to provide a professional service, it is paramount to put service users at the heart of everything we do. As such, the people receiving our support have become accustomed to our flexible, user-led services. This has led to Tagsa Uibhist becoming a major provider of care services throughout Uist.

Tagsa Uibhist is the only registered charity on the islands that provides free care delivered by trained staff. Our service is registered and regulated by the Care Inspectorate and we work closely with the Local Authority, Health Board and other voluntary organisations on the islands. Tagsa Uibhist is a company limited by guarantee, and is managed locally by our members and Board of Directors
