Aberdeenshire Council
Aberdeenshire Council is committed to encouraging equality, diversity and inclusion among our workforce, and eliminating unlawful discrimination.
The council's responsibility, as a public body, is to promote and encourage equal opportunities in addition to tackling unlawful discrimination. Equality and fairness are central to the way we conduct business
Our aim is for our workforce to be truly representative of all sections of society and our customers, and for each employee to feel respected and able to give their best.
We have equalities ambassadors across the organisation, who are the first point of contact for any queries or concerns about equality and diversity in their service.
The Council works to improve access to services and opportunities for employees and residents by promoting equality in service delivery and employment.
Reviews are undertaken to monitor if staff are treated fairly and in accordance with their individual requirements by workforce equality monitoring and action planning.
We continue to build on training and guidance available for managers and employees - to help ensure there is an understanding of the importance of equalities, diversity and inclusion and how this should be considered across the activities we undertake.
