Job Description

An exciting opportunity has arisen to recruit a Strategic Commissioning Officer, you will be joining a small well-connected team within the Procurement and Commissioning function.

We are looking for applicants with a positive attitude, a willingness to learn, the desire and ability to work collectively and become a key team member. The workload will be varied, challenging and interesting.
You will be assisting the Team Leader – Strategic Commissioning in the achievement of positive change across a range of partner organisations via strong relationship management.
Your duties will include, liaising, negotiating and maintaining dialogue regarding contractual and commission matters with partners. Gathering and analysing information to assess service requirements regarding commissioning and de-commissioning.
You will monitor strategic partners to ensure they are contributing to the priorities and outcomes as agreed. Preparing committee and performance reporting. Taking the lead in co-ordination and delivery of engagement and support activities with partners to ensure that their change programmes support the realisation of the Council’s change programme.
You must have the ability to develop and maintain good relationships with colleagues and partner organisations as will be required to deliver briefings and presentations while representing the Team Leader in internal and external working groups.
This job is temporary for up to 23 months from date of appointment.
Internal and external applications on a secondment basis will be considered. You must have the approval of your line manager / organisation.
