This is an exciting role where the Council is looking for someone who has the ambition, drive and experience to fill the role of Corporate Support Officer in the Chief Executive's Support Team, assisting the Chief Executive as the Head of the Council's Paid Service.

This will include management of strategic relationships, coordinating and ensuring compliance with statutory and governance requirements including the preparation of committee reports, planning for specific policy developments and projects, ensuring best value and an ongoing professional approach to Council business at all times. The post holder will also oversee the arrangement and organisation of programmes, events and itineraries, including the preparation of agendas and supporting papers.

The successful candidate will accompany the Chief Executive to meetings as required, and have sound experience in being an effective communicator, as well as being able to work in a high pressure, fast paced environment.

The post holder will help drive performance, ensuring that mechanisms are in place to monitor performance and plan for long term continuous performance across the Council.

The successful candidate will be progressive and passionate with the initiative and resilience to lead and manage multiple service / support activities developing high performing teams and driving a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.

This is a challenging but rewarding role requiring adaptability, diplomacy, utilising experience and skills to support the Council and its services to realise the Council’s objectives.

This is a full time, permanent position, working 35 hours per week, based in Lochgilphead.
