St Augustine’s is a Catholic secondary school of approximately 960 students situated in the west of the City of Edinburgh. Its catchment area encompasses five Catholic primary schools extending from South Queensferry in the north to Balerno in the south. However, as a result of parental choice, our current S1 contains students drawn from 31 primaries
St Augustine’s stresses the importance of high levels of achievement for every student and there is a strong sense of community within the school. All staff of St Augustine’s, teaching and non-teaching, are prepared to make a positive contribution to the school as a whole and to play their part as members of the St Augustine’s community.

Since this is a Roman Catholic school, appointees will require to be approved with regard to religious belief and character by the Church. Candidates must therefore contact the Edinburgh Diocesan Staffing Adviser to verify or establish their status with regard to Church Approval. Salaries will be in accordance with the Scheme of Salaries and Conditions of Service for Teaching Staff in School Education.
This post is considered Regulated Work with Vulnerable Children and/or Protected Adults, under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. Preferred candidates will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check prior to a formal offer of employment being made by the City of Edinburgh Council.
