Job Description

Leisure & Culture Dundee is a Scottish Charitable Incorporated Organisation (SCIO) SC042421. It was established by Dundee City Council in July 2011 to deliver leisure, sports, library, information and cultural services for the city. www.leisureandculturedundee.com You will be based at Ancrum Outdoor Centre and provide casual cover in an adhoc capacity to help meet service demands. When work is available you will be contacted. There is no obligation for Leisure & Culture Dundee to offer you work, nor are you obliged to accept work. The rate of pay is £10.34 per hour.

Requirements

You will have a further education qualification i.e. NC/ HNC/HND in sport or outdoor coaching or relevant experience of working with children and young people in outdoor environments.

Responsibilities

To assist in the high quality outdoor learning courses and programmes for Ancrum Outdoor Centre on an adhoc basis to meet service demands.

The Individual

You will have experience of participating in a variety of adventure activities and have a genuine enthusiasm for outdoor learning. Ideally you will be working towards achieving some national govern body awards in adventure activities such as climbing, hillwalking, paddle sports, snow sports, sailing etc. You will be able to demonstrate a high degree of maturity through undertaking responsible adult role in this post and have the energy and enthusiasm required to work for one of Scotland’s leading outdoor centres. You will be an aspiring outdoor activity instructor with personal experience in a variety of adventure activities. You will be physically fit and will have the experience and ability to work well with children and young people and be a positive role model. You must hold a current first aid certificate. The post is considered Regulated Work with Children and/or Protected Adults under the protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. The preferred candidates will be required to join the PVG Scheme
