Job Description
Leisure & Culture Dundee is a Scottish Charitable Incorporated Organisation (SCIO) SC042421. It was established by Dundee City Council in July 2011 to deliver leisure, sports, library, information and cultural services for the city.

Working as a Swim Teacher (assignable), you will be required to work across Leisure & Culture Dundee facilities, including St Paul’s Swim & Sport, Grove Swim & Sport, Olympia, Lochee Swim & Leisure Centre and Baldragon. With a specific focus on Olympia at this time.
Candidates will operate a full range of activities, Learn to Swim and help support the development of new programmes. Opportunities are available to achieve aquatic related qualifications with a priority given to Early Years Learn to Swim.
There are various shifts available including morning, afternoons and evenings.
Our programme at the Olympia can offer flexibility to work term time only working to the Dundee School Holiday timetable. Alternatively, year-round contracts are available.
Additional hours will be available to assist covering holiday programmes, holidays and sickness.
The posts are fixed term for a period of 12 months.Requirements
You must hold a UKCC Level 1 Swimming Teaching Qualification or a Scottish Swim Teacher Qualification (SSTQ) or equivalent and a current National Pool Lifeguard Qualification.Responsibilities
To assist the Aquatics Development Manager and Aquatic Lessons Coordinator with delivering the full range of teaching functions and customer service requirements relating to Leisure and Culture Dundee's involvement in schools and the City-wide aquatics’ programmes.The Individual
You will have experience of planning structured activity/sports sessions, as well as excellent communication skills to work within a team and have the ability to organise sessions and time effectively.
You will be required to follow Health & Safety guidelines, Safe Systems of Work and complete Daily registers for participants along with continual assessments. You must be willing to develop your teaching skills whilst working with all ages, abilities and aquatic disciplines.
The ability to work flexible hours at citywide centres and a willingness to undertake training opportunities for purposes of both personal and service development are essential for this post.
This post is considered Regulated Work with Children and/or Protected Adults under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007.
The preferred candidates will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check prior work being offered by Leisure & Culture Dundee.
