Job Description
The post of Training Officer (Casual) has been created to assist the Social Work Training and Workforce Development Service to respond flexibly to meet training needs of the Social Work Adult Service workforce.
We require to build capacity to ensure the workforce are compliant with requirements in relation to Moving and Handling of people. This accredited mandatory training is delivered to relevant staff during their induction period and is available as a refresher to ensure Health and Safety standards are met and workforce practice is confident and competent.
The Training Officer (Casual) will be required to support the delivery of the Social Work Adult Services Learning and Development programme as appropriate. This will include delivery of Behavioural Support Strategies (BSS) Managing Challenging Behaviour and Reablement training. There will also be opportunities to support multi-agency training, learning and development.
Interested applicants should have experience in the delivery of training and have or be willing to obtain and maintain certification for Moving and Handling and BSS Managing Challenging Behaviour programmes. This may require travelling to the regional or national courses depending on the availability and location of training. (Employer funded).
The post requires experience of working within Social Work and Social Care Services / Health and Social Care Partnership services. A relevant professional qualification in social work, occupational therapy or nursing and capacity to regularly deliver training is required. A training qualification is desired but not essential.
You will work on an as and when required basis with varied hours weekly to be discussed at interview.
