Job Description

Glasgow Life is looking for Community Services Supervisors to join us on a full time permanent contract. As Community Services Supervisor, you will be joining our in-demand Libraries & Communities team. You will be part of a dedicated team which supports library operations city-wide.
Libraries provide a cultural and creative place for all ages. They offer a place to read for pleasure and purpose, and collections which support literacy development. Glasgow's Libraries also have e-lending, author talks, book groups and festivals. People can access special collections as well as archives and family/local history. As a Community Services Supervisor, you’ll be an integral part of the team by providing a frontline service to library users, actively contributing to audience development to a range of audiences. Reporting to a Community Services Supervisor and working alongside a venue-based team.

The role
As a Community Services Supervisor, you’ll be an integral part of the team by providing operational management of local premises operated by Glasgow Life, including managing a team of frontline staff. Reporting to Community Services Officer or Librarian and working alongside an established team.
The candidate
If you’re interested in joining us as a Community Services Supervisor you’ll need:
• Previous experience of operational management of premises and supervisory experience
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• Good literacy and numeracy skills
• Excellent customer service skills
• Good ICT skills
• Ability to work on a flexible pattern of hours including weekend and evenings
